Linguine OS is a software platform that controls a variety of public space urban infrastructure technologies such as lighting, cameras, projectors and water fountains.

Linguine OS controls, monitors and connects together many different technology systems customarily deployed in large public urban spaces, using a number of different protocols and data formats. This includes both sensors and IoT data systems (air quality monitors, weather stations, traffic and noise devices) as well as outputs such as street and pavement lighting and water fountains. It can also take real time camera inputs in order to have systems respond in real-time to people in the public space.

By installing Linguine OS in a public urban space, city managers and innovation partners can rapidly reconfigure and design novel interactive experiences that surprise and delight people and get local businesses or members of the public involved in ‘designing’ and configuring these experiences, giving them a greater sense of participation in the governance of urban public space.
